Clayton Hall Farm has invested £1.6 million to have an anaerobic digestion plant installed which should pay itself off within 5 years.

Food waste from local companies will give the scraps to the farm to help the process.

Built by CO2Sense, is one of the first of its kind in West Yorkshire.

On TV recently Tesco’s announced they were looking at installing Anaerobic digesters to reduce the cost of shipping waste out to be disposed of.

Waste food would go back on empty trucks that have delivered and are also taking cardboard and other waste packaging for recycling.

Anaerobic digestion technology will play a big roll in reducing waste and the harmful gases been released from uncontrolled composting of waste food etc.
